I've been Tagged!

Thank you, Alice, at [ Alice Lost & The Monster Brigade ] for tagging me! I'm glad to have another excuse to post! Rules Thank the person who tagged you for this challenge and post a link to their blog.  Tag 5 blogs with less than 200 followers.  Wish them to tag more bloggers to help keep this thing going!  5 Things You Need Everyday Although I don't get one everyday, I usually need a nap everyday. I need some creative or reflective alone time in which I can read, write, and think.  I need some time to listen to music. Usually this is in the car. Breakfast! I don't do well skipping that (unless I wake up at lunch time). A little time on the internet. 5 Books You Would Recommend  A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. This is an early Gothic novel...

Tu Blog Me Inspira Award

This award was given to me by Ray X over at Breakfast on Mars . Thanks! For this award, I have to list five odd habits of mine. I also have to tag fifteen bloggers that inspire me. When I hear people talking, I sometimes trace out a word I hear on my hand. A lot of times I don't even notice. I think it comes from my father, because he does the same thing.  Whenever I'm tired or upset, I tend to run my fingers along my scalp. Sometimes I'll rub my forehead too. I think this stems from when  I was very little, my mom used to rub my forehead before bed. She also liked to play with my hair, but it always bothered me. When I'm thinking, I bite my lip. Sometimes I even peel some of the skin off without noticing. I frequently pop my fingers. My brother does it a lot, and he pressured me to pop my fingers as well when I was much younger. I've been doing it ever since, so hopefully it won't cause arthritis or knobby knuckles like people say.  ...

Song Tag!

[Lady Zendra of Noran] made a tag, which I will be doing. :) The idea is to pick a song that describes you. Here are the rules: It must make you feel good to be you. You must post a video containing the song. You must post the lyrics after the video in the blog post. It can be any genre or artist. NO JUDGING. It doesn't have to be gothy. The video containing the song can be anything. It does not have to be a music video. Even if the video contains lyrics, still post them. The first song that came to mind was Doing The Unstuck by The Cure. Although this song does not describe me as a person, this song can really cheer me up and make me feel excited to face the day. I loved when this song was in a scene from Gypsy 83 (below). If you wanted to hear the whole song, here it is below.                                           "Doing The Unstuck" it's a perfect...

Creative Writing Prompt

I'm taking an awesome Creative Writing class right now called "Good Hemingway, Bad Hemingway." If you didn't guess, the class is about Ernest Hemingway. We've been reading "In Our Time," but the entire class isn't just about Hemingway specifically - It's about developing creative writing skills.  We've been given some quick little prompts in class to help us with this undertaking. The professor gave us a sentence that tells something. Our assignment was to take that sentence and show what's happening through our writing. For Example, Our first prompt was "The old man was tired." We are supposed to describe a scene (about a paragraph in length) without using the phrase in our text. There was a five minute time limit as well. It's a good exercise for any aspiring writer out there. Good writers are able to show the audience what is happening rather than telling them (and without using many...or any adverbs). If any of ...

The Obituary Challenge

I've been working in The Writing Studio at Georgia State today, when a worried student came in for some assistance. She was assigned to write an obituary for her Journalism class. This obituary was to be written about the professor of her course. I'd never heard of anyone assigning something like this (probably because it's morbid), but it's very practical to learn for Journalism. From there, I had an idea. I thought what a good tag/challenge it would be for fellow bloggers to write an obituary about themselves. (not to mention a bit of morbid fun) So, Here's the rules: Link back to whoever tagged you. Put these rules in your tag.  Write an obituary about yourself (it can be as funny or as serious as you like). Write about a paragraph or two (or more if necessary) in length. You may tag up to 10 people, and be sure to link to them. Have fun, because creative writing is one of the greatest joys in life!   My Obituary:  Katie, age 18, perished on Septembe...

No tag backs. 11 Things About Me: I scored as an INTJ (introverted, intuitive, thinking, judging) on the Jung & Briggs Myers personality test with 100% introverted.  I have many nick names for my cat, Abby. these include Sagabelly, Puff, Pumpkin, Muffin, Turkey, etc.. I want to start youtubing. Right now, I only have up 3 videos. I started ghost hunting for a school project, and I enjoyed it enough to continue.
