October 2012 Update

Hey everyone. I thought I'd just give a quick life update. This October has been extremely busy, so school and work have taken up the majority of my time. I've had a considerable amount of people attend my ghost tours. Each weekend, I've been doing two tours per night with about thirty people on each. It's been tasking, but totally worth it for the sake of story telling (and big tips).  However, I think these evening tours in the cold where I'm forced to yell are starting to take a toll on my health. I woke up with a sore throat and runny nose this morning, and I had foot cramps the other night from all the walking. Regardless, I will not falter!

There's a couple of posts I'd like to do, so hopefully I'll get them posted soon. I've got a DIY post in the works, and I'll definitely be posting my Halloween Costume.

Last but not least, my best friend Justean and I will be attending the Rob Zombie/Marilyn Manson Twins of Evil tour on October 25th. I'm pretty excited about this. I have a feeling it will be a great show, so I'll make sure to do a post about that.

    You're so lucky to be able to go to Twins of Evil! They came here but alas, I have no money. :) I can't wait to see what you're going to be for Halloween!

Devil's Turnaround

Noonday Missionary Baptist Church's Cemetery is also known as "Devil's Turnaround." It is located along a little back road in Kennesaw, Georgia, and most of the graves are scattered in the woods. It is easy to miss, but some of the gravestones are visible from the road. The cemetery has graves from the 1860's. I wouldn't doubt that some of its occupants were slaves at one time. Many say the land is haunted by malevolent spirits who hurl objects and make physical contact--shoving, scratching, and even biting visitors. I could understand why any lingering spirits might be upset: These grounds have been terribly neglected. Much of the graves are broken and toppled over. Some are barely visible through the overgrowth of ivy and weeds. People also say the root of the haunting may be related to rumored cult rituals performed on the property. Goodwill's Bad Reputation

In recent news, I was appalled to find that my favorite source to buy clothing has developed a bad reputation for paying disabled workers under minimum wage. According to NBC News, Some disabled workers in Pennsylvania were payed as low as 22 cents per hour in 2011. Thanks to a legal loophole, this is not technically a violation of any labor standard. Source Goodwill Industries is a company that prides itself on providing opportunities to " enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need reach their full potential through learning and the power of work." One of the main reasons why I had always shopped at Goodwill, besides the variety of clothing at bargain prices, is that I believed each purchase would help serve my community.
