I Just Bought My Dead Can Dance Tickets!

source Dead Can Dance is coming to Atlanta on September 5, and I just bought my tickets! I'm so excited! I've been a fan of this band since I was twelve of thirteen, and I finally get to see them at eighteen years old. I made sure to book good seats. I'll be sitting in the orchestra section. Everyone, buy your tickets soon! Here's the link to the website where you can buy tickets. If you haven't heard Dead Can Dance, my condolences. Here's a few of their songs:

Abandoned Houses

To say that I like abandoned houses is an understatement. I am extremely fascinated with them. They are forbidden time capsules with clues about the past strewn about. Each one tells a different story, and much of it is left to the imagination. I love the adventure of it all. A couple days ago, I went with a few friends to an abandoned house not too far from where I live. It was really interesting. Just as a warning, this post is heavy with pictures. We walked up to the entrance of the house. On the front porch, there were phonebooks, buttons, and bottles of schizophrenia medication.  Nathan and Jean Claire We entered through the open window, since the front door is permanently closed due to the house weighing it down.    There were piles of clothes, old belongings, and more bottles of anti psychotics strewn everywhere. On the wall, you can see "Jon", which appears to have been scrawled in glue. One of the former residents, named Jon, was also prescribed t

Cut Out + Keep

I find my self on the internet frequently...way too frequently. One site that I wanted to share is Cut Out + Keep. It's a website dedicated solely to DIY projects and tutorials. I love browsing it to see what people have done, so I can get inspiration for future DIY projects of my own. This site has clothing, purses, accessories, dolls, hats, make-up, food, and everything else you can imagine. These projects are fairly simple, and they are affordable alternatives to many items from online stores. Here are some really awesome projects I wanted to share: (Click on the links for the tutorials)  Zombie Kitty Platform shoes like Kerli's Nylon Parasol "Bite Me" Choker There you have it.  Now go out there and DIY to your heart's content.

The Real-Life Munster Mansion

source I grew up watching The Munsters, and I loved the show. Even today, I still love it. When I found out that a couple in Texas built a replica of the Munster mansion, I was ecstatic. 1313 Mockingbird Lane in Waxahachie, Texas is the address. It is the couple's private home, and it is only open to visitors during charity events. I hope to visit this house when I get the chance.  This is probably old news, but I'm sure there were still a few people who haven't heard about it. Here's the link to the official site where there's info and pictures. source

Spooktacular Hearses and HearseCon!

Momocon 2012

My best friend, Justean, and I decided to go to Momocon yesterday. Originally free entry, this year they started charging thirty dollars to get in. I was really surprised and disappointed. When we made it inside, we saw so many awesome looking people. I'm not even a fan of anime, other than a few exceptions, but I still loved seeing everybody's cosplays. The lovely Justean (plague doctor) and I Jack, The Pumpkin King V, my inspiration. They were just so adorable, so I had to take their photo. A man in a gilly suit...haha This year, Momocon was held in a larger venue. Justean and I were a little let down, because last year was so much more enjoyable. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like there were a lot less dealers and artisans this year. All the same, the costumes were great, and the people were really friendly--even paying me compliments. When I came home (without having bought anything), I remembered that I forgot to give blood like I had

Starting My Customized Band Jacket

After a few days of on and off work, I finished the first logo on my jacket. I just free handed the Sisters of Mercy logo on to the back of my old leather jacket that wasn't getting much use. I'm really excited about it, and I think it turned out pretty well. Next, I'll be adding "Dead Can Dance" across the shoulders. After that, I'm not quite sure what else I'll add. It's a bit of a spontaneous and poorly planned project. I'll be painting on new things every so often, so I'll make sure to update on my progress. It's pretty blank, so I've got a ways to go. The lettering was the most difficult.

Prom 2012

Right now, I am having a difficult time typing this because of my enormous black claws that I glued on yesterday. Last night was Prom. It took so long for me to get ready, but most of that time was devoted to my hair. I did Siouxsie inspired makeup and rockabilly inspired hair. What a combo. After having finished everything, I hopped in the car and drove over to Prom, which was held at Fernbank Museum of Natural History. If you don't know Fernbank, it's a wonderful place for science lovers where two huge dinosaur skeletons were the backdrop to Prom.      If you have been to Prom, you probably know that is is overrated. It's a lot of sweaty teenagers dancing to top forty remixes with some good food. If you aren't determined to have fun and get your money's worth, then you won't. Jean and I met up last night. We weren't having too much fun. We both decided that we were going to dance obnoxiously, so I'm sure we pissed off some people in the process

Prom Preparations

Prom is this weekend, and I am entirely unprepared. I'll be wearing my old dress from last year. I don't mind, it's beautiful and really cost efficient. prom 2011 prom 2011 I graduated early in December, but I'm still allowed to attend prom. I'm going with my friend Eric (Jean) this year. We had something really special planned. He wanted to dress like Carrie with blood spatter included, Carrie and I was going to go as bride of Frankenstein. The administrators put an end to his Carrie idea, and I couldn't find the perfect dress in time for my idea. Instead, I plan on doing makeup inspired by Siouxsie Sioux. I'll re-dye my hair, and I'm planning on getting long black fake nails. It will still be just as great. I think I'll even wear my Demonia Swing 220s. Oh, and I'll make sure to post pictures of our classy asses after this Prom. :)

Sleep Paralysis

The Nightmare by Fuseli      Chances are, you are reading this because you have had sleep paralysis. Sometimes mistaken for paranormal, sleep paralysis is a fairly common occurrence. To explain simply, it's when you experience frightening hallucinations when you are half asleep (entering or leaving REM sleep). Personally, I find sleep paralysis so fascinating even though it can be shit terrifying while it happens. I've experienced sleep paralysis, so I'll offer some of my experiences and how I deal with them.      Many cultures have been fascinated by sleep paralysis through the ages. It's been explained as possessions, an attack from incubi or succubi, a visit from a restless spirit, witches, and anything in between. Still today, people associate it with the paranormal, and it is easy to see why. If you haven't experienced this, try to imagine. You're in bed, and you are falling asleep. You hear a buzzing noise that gets unbearably loud, when you start to

An Interesting Day

Today was an interesting day to say the least. After finally getting dressed this afternoon, I went over to pick up some job applications at a couple places. As I was walking to the book store, I noticed these two bullies from High School sitting outside. I never really knew them, and we always left each other alone minus a few annoyances on their part.  As I walked toward the entrance, they took off their sunglasses and stared me down with huge surprised faces and eyes rolling. The giggling was pretty obvious too. I wasn't dressed too flamboyantly or anything, and I was minding my own business. I just gave them a big smile and mouthed the words "fuck you." It's so funny how childish and petty people can be. I thought things would be different after graduating High School early, but apparently I was wrong. Maybe they thought I had died or something. I also went to Claire's and picked up two things. I got a pair of poison vile earings and some knee high lime g
