Orientation and New Piercing

Earlier this week, I went to my school for orientation. I'll be attending Georgia State at their Honors College. I'm pretty happy about being a student there. I think I'll enjoy it. The Orientation was an all day affair. I took a tour, talked to clubs, and signed up for classes. I was pestered by Greek life to join a sorority (I don't pay for friends and connections, thank you very much), and I even got a free zombie shirt from the school's television booth.  This is the awesome night of The Living Dead Shirt. I'm wearing it right now. At the end of the day, I trekked up to see financial aid to see how much tuition, books, and fees would be.  They told me I'll only have to pay a very very small amount (less than $100) for tuition per semester. Previously, the issue of money was worrying me. When I discovered that scholarships are paying for most everything, I practically jumped up and down with joy. My grandma, the one I mentioned in a past post, reall...

DIY: Blood Spatter Manicure

I first saw this tutorial at Gothic Charm School over a year ago. Since then, I've been dying to try it myself. If you want to look like you just dipped your finger tips on blood, then this look is for you. It's surprisingly simple too! First, I painted my nails white in order for the red to stand out more. This is not necessary. A clear or nude coat would word just as well.  After you let the base coat dry, brush the red polish just on the tips in a half crescent shape. This does not have to look perfect. Then, you will be needing a toothpick. Dip the toothpick in the red polish, and dab on the paint in your desired pattern.  Now, you're finished! There's really nothing else to it.

I want to start youtubing. Right now, I only have up 3 videos. I started ghost hunting for a school project, and I enjoyed it enough to continue. My brother is moving to Seoul, South Korea for a year in August to teach english. I'm planning on visiting him over Christmas break. One day, I want to live in New Orleans. I like wearing white, and I plan on getting more white pieces in my wardrobe (and...

My Style Evolution: 2008-2012

I compiled a video of my pictures from 2008 to 2012 in order to show how my style has evolved. Somehow, I wasn't able to find any pictures from the year 2009. 2008- This was my 8th grade year. I was friends with a girl who called herself a Goth. I admired her make-up, clothing, and courage to wear what she wanted.        This was also the year that I started High School. This halloween, I went as Mrs. Lovett from Helena Bonham Carter. I loved my outfit and make-up there. I remember wanting to look like that everyday.      After that, I started to wear my make-up a little darker. I also started to wear fingerless gloves and darker clothing. This was the year that I got my Pair of Dr. Martens combat boots. 2010-This was the year when I officially considered myself to be a Goth. "This Corrosion" by The Sisters of Mercy was the first gothic rock song I heard, and I fell in love. After that, I was searching new bands like crazy. I fell in love...

DIY: Everyday Is Halloween Patch

Yesterday, while I was a bit bored, I decided to paint an "Everyday Is Halloween" patch. It'a a little sloppier than the last patch I made, but that's to be expected since the words are smaller on this one.  What I used for fabric was the left over black jean material from when I converted my jeans into a skirt . I printed out the words in my desired font to use as a reference, and I then used white acrylic paint. I also went over the edges with clear nail polish in order to stop the fraying. And now for your listening enjoyment, here's the inspiration for my patch: Everyday Is Halloween by Ministry Or if you like the Astrovamps version...

A Day With Grandma

My Grandma on my mother's side took a bad fall months ago, and she's been recovering every since. Just recently, she had a knee surgery. Since she needs physical therapy and nurse's help, she's temporarily staying in a very nice rehab facility until she can go back home. Today, I went to visit her for a few hours and stayed for lunch, so I'd like to share some pictures. I love my Grandma. :)  I have a funny story about their lunch room. People sit in their own little cliques, just like highschool. When my grandma was new to the place, she had no idea about the seating arrangements. She decided to sit by one lady who was alone. Instead of sitting down, the lady told her she couldn't sit there. Everyday, that lady sits by herself. I guess High School never ends. After lunch, we went over to the lake. This place is so beautiful. It has a lake filled with koi fish. I got to feed them bread, and I have a video of that below. Also, the geese there are not so...

My Nose Piercing

Yesterday, I went by Lucky Draw Tattoos to get my nose pierced. My best friend, Justean, took video of the entire process. I trimmed the video down by a few minutes, because there was a lot of excess. When the video starts, my nose is being marked for the third and final time. My favorite part of the video is when Ashley (Piercer) says,"Here's a napkin just in case you bleed out." It's not often you get to hear that lovely phrase.

I Got A Job Finally!

Today has been one of the best days I've had in a while. I just got my first job as a ghostly tour guide at Ghosts of Marietta. This means I get paid to go galavanting around town in Victorian garb while telling ghost stories! I'm incredibly excited. I start when I get my script memorized...unfortunately that means I'll be starting late July. It's a very big script. Still, I have a dream job that also gives me enough time in the day to hold down another part time job. :) source A couple of hours from now, I'll be going to get my nose pierced. My best friend's going to be filming the experience. If everything works out as planned, I'll have the video and pictures of the piercing up by tomorrow. I also plan on getting a center labret piercing sometime soon, but I don't know when that will be.  Anyhow, wish me luck!

Ripped Tights Are Controversial

source Sure, ripped jeans are fine among most people (as long as you don't buy them pre-ripped), but Tights? Oh no, ripped tights are not acceptable among many.  Either you like ripped tights or you hate them, and there seems to be no middle.  I live in a conservative area where women are supposed to throw their tights away as soon as it gets a run or a tear. Slashed and ripped tights is a somewhat recent trend, and many people have a lot to say. People will point out the run in your tights and frown as if you did something wrong. On the days when I choose to wear my ripped tights or slashed leggings, I get a lot more negative looks from people. Why is this? Well, there are many reasons: People think it looks dirty and unkempt. It is associated with a lack of money, which is obviously frowned upon in a capitalist society. It is seen as blatant defiance of a social norm. Many think it is trashy. Here's a link to a Chictopia forum in which many women...

My Week

If you haven't noticed (and you probably haven't), I've been missing on blogger for a week. My computer had a nasty virus that took a week to fix. Over a week, a lot has happened surprisingly. I saw a man who was humped awake by a large dog. My mother wanted to go to Hot Topic, and I saw a Bauhaus shirt there which I had to purchase (more about that later). I might have a job, which is the perfect job for me (more about that if I get it). I had my first trip to Five Below, where I purchased a few things: Awesome zombie stickers for my car! ($2) A paisley skull lanyard ($1) A Voodoo Friends doll. His name is "misfit." I love the nose ring and purple mohawk! ($3) I visited an old friend of mine who I haven't seen in four years. I also saw the premier for the movie, Prometheus, last night. If you like Alien from Ridley Scott, this movie ties in. So now I have my computer back, I can keep up to date on some things. That includes blogging.
