My First Ghost Tour

source As you probably know, I'm now officially a ghostly tour guide in my town! I'm so happy about this. What were the chances of me finding a job where I get paid to be creepy and tell ghost stories?  Before tonight, I was a ghost tour virgin. I was a little nervous at first, but life has prepared me for public speaking since I've been on stage and done presentations before. Overall, I think it went pretty well. I had an unusually large group (19 people) of mostly serious older adults who appreciated the history more than anything else. My walking cane even broke a few times, there were 4 or 5 trains to go by during the tour (which is irritating), and my new shoes rubbed my heels raw. Despite all that, everyone seemed to have a good time and I even creeped a few people out! Here's what I wore minus the Top hat: I love my little coffin locket. :) And for your listening enjoyment:

Ladies in Black Theme Post: Spirit

This Ladies in Black theme post is "inspired by a song."  I was having a little trouble at first, I have to admit. I was combing through some old files, and I remembered that I once wrote a little poem inspired by the song, "Spirit" by Bauhaus. I love the song, and I had it stuck in my head for ages until I came up with my own poem that has a similar rhythm to the song. Now normally I don't share my writing online, but this is an exception. It was inspired sleep paralysis that I used to endure often. I find it to be great fuel for writing. Here you go. It's called 'My Silver Noose' It's not my best work, but I like it. I hope whoever reads this finds it enjoyable as well.  My Silver Noose Will tonight I be a puppet Hanging from a thread With dead eyes thrashing violently, My vessel weighted lead? Will you be with me, Plain for me to see? My dry eyes struck with terror From a shadow over me. You’re choking ou

Summer Update

I haven't done an update in a while, but I think it's due time. As you probably know, I've been doing The Goth Challenge this month. As much as doing The Goth Challenge is a good way of allowing my readers to see a bit about my interests and personal experiences, It's taking so long to get finished! Once I'm done with the challenge, I'd like to do some more Paranormal related posts. There's just so much to do with that field that I can blog about. I also have about two more DIY posts that you will be seeing soon. As school is starting in August, I might not have as much time to devote to blogging. With that, I'm going to try to get some good posts in between now and then. In other news, I'd also like to start YouTubing. I might do some make-up tutorials or post some videos of my little adventures around town. Here's my account.  Also, for those of you who might've wanted to add me on Facebook,  here's my page.

Old Forensics Project Video

My classmates and I made this last year in forensics class. This was my last semester of High School. It's a murder mystery centered around a girl gang. Mostly I remember being really sick during this project.  Enjoy!

Bela Lugosi Purse!

I checked my email this afternoon, and I received a message from Hot Topic saying my order came in! As soon as I read it, I booked it up to the mall. Needless to say I was pretty excited with this purchase. I ended up getting $15 dollars off my purchase with a special coupon called, "Hot Cash" that I received after purchasing my nose jewelry. I finally got my Bela Lugosi Bowling Bag from Rock Rebel after it had spent much time on my wishlist. It's the perfect size, and it's even lined with stripes on the inside. I love it!

New Haircut!

This is the shortest I've ever had my hair, and I absolutely love it! Having long hair for a while really made me miss short hair. I was tired of having lifeless hair that really did nothing for me. Now that it's summer, my new hair keeps my temperature a lot cooler. It's also really easy to manage. Overall, I think it really suits me. These photos are from yesterday, but I'm actually in the process of re-dying my hair blue black as I'm typing this.

Used Book Store CD Finds

Today , my dad and I decided to go up to the used book store. I haven't been in a while, and I've been wanting to go look at their huge CD selection. It took me a while to browse since they have two walls and a few bins filled with CDs. I found so much stuff! I'm pretty excited about what I bought. Soon, I'll be coming back for a few more that I didn't get. Depeche mode-Playing The Angel, Christian Death-Atrocities, Gene Loves Jezebel-Kiss of Life, Billy Idol-Charmed life In total, I only spent about $18 on these, which is great! There's albums from Laether Strip, Ministry, Daniel Ash, and Love and Rockets that I'm coming back for. I never thought that I'd find this much great stuff there.

Advice: Goth Isn't for Grown-ups?

The lovely Lady Zendra of Noran over at Drones and Drabbles  asked me for some advice the other day. I'd like to offer a solution, and hopefully my readers could comment with advice of their own for her as well. She said,  "My problem is that at 19 years of age, my parents are insisting that I "grow up" and give up my gothic clothing and interests. I simply do not agree that to be grown up, I have to give up these things that I love. I've tried to explain that I feel that I look beautiful in my darker aesthetic. How do I convince my parents that there is a time and place for certain things and that when I am out with my friends or in public I can wear what I feel comfortable in."  It's such a shame that when some imagine an alternative person, they seem to think that there are no respectable adults involved. Your parents are most likely worried that your choice of dress and interests may affect the way people view you, which could also affect career
