Bats in the Belfry, Cats in the Attic

Over the weekend, I scoured the racks at the thrift store, and I actually found a decent base dress for $6 to start my Marie Antoinette costume. It's much more Antebellum than Rococo at this stage, but it's certainly a start. I will be cutting off and re-sewing new sleeves, adding lace trim and new ribbons, and poofing it up. In addition, I will perhaps make a jacket/over skirt. Such a bright red color was not my preference, since pastels abound in Rococo fashion, but I will make it work by adding more pastel accents. Even vinyls (which are technically obsolete) have a vintage charm which CD's currently lack. I have a friend who jokes, "It's 2013. Who listens to CD's anymore?" while knowing full well that I still buy them. It might seem that I have luddite tendencies--I don't use an e reader either. However, I can make some very good arguments for purchasing CD's. Buying your music on compact disks nowadays is really cheap, especially if you know where to look. I tend to shop for them at Goodwill, thrift stores, and used book stores. I found Ministry's Psalm 69 (in very good condition) at my local Goodwill for only $1. Surprisingly, there's not very much information on the internet pertaining to keeping a spiritual journal. Sure, there's a WikiHow  page, but most of the information I've found is either vague or relating to specifically Christian spiritual journals. Actually, there are no limits for spiritual journals, so why and how you write one depend on you, the author. source I felt compelled to keep a spiritual journal for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I consider myself to be a spiritual person. I wanted to write this journal to make sense of past experiences that could possibly be paranormal-related, and I also wanted a way of tracking my spiritual growth. My family and I went out to my favorite restaurant for my birthday dinner. It's called Gumbeaux's, and it's the best Cajun place that I know of. I wanted to try frog legs, so we ordered it as an appetizer. I picked one up, and bit into it. It tasted a lot like chicken, but you could taste the lake water in some bites. When I bit into Frogger's thigh, swamp juice shot out at me. It was odd, but something I wanted to try once. I ordered my usual Jambalaya for my main meal. It was delicious as usual. I even got free bread pudding for dessert! When it came out, the waitress and customers sang "Happy Birthday" to me. froggy legs The best Jambalaya I've ever had. My lovely Grandma! Today , my dad and I decided to go up to the used book store. I haven't been in a while, and I've been wanting to go look at their huge CD selection. It took me a while to browse since they have two walls and a few bins filled with CDs. I found so much stuff! I'm pretty excited about what I bought. Soon, I'll be coming back for a few more that I didn't get. Depeche mode-Playing The Angel, Christian Death-Atrocities, Gene Loves Jezebel-Kiss of Life, Billy Idol-Charmed life In total, I only spent about $18 on these, which is great! There's albums from Laether Strip, Ministry, Daniel Ash, and Love and Rockets that I'm coming back for. I never thought that I'd find this much great stuff there.

If you haven't noticed (and you probably haven't), I've been missing on blogger for a week. My computer had a nasty virus that took a week to fix. Over a week, a lot has happened surprisingly. I saw a man who was humped awake by a large dog. My mother wanted to go to Hot Topic, and I saw a Bauhaus shirt there which I had to purchase (more about that later). I might have a job, which is the perfect job for me (more about that if I get it). I had my first trip to Five Below, where I purchased a few things: Awesome zombie stickers for my car! ($2) A paisley skull lanyard ($1) A Voodoo Friends doll. His name is "misfit." I love the nose ring and purple mohawk! ($3) I visited an old friend of mine who I haven't seen in four years. I also saw the premier for the movie, Prometheus, last night. If you like Alien from Ridley Scott, this movie ties in. So now I have my computer back, I can keep up to date on some things. That includes blogging.
