Sometimes, I get the inexplicable desire to paint patches. This time, I had an image of the moon phases in my head. The next thing I knew, I was pinning the patch on to the back of my jean vest. I was very pleased with how it turned out. What do you think? In progress The finished product

For those of you who've been trying to hunt down a nose chain, you probably know that they're difficult to find. Even online , there isn't a big selection. The ones I've found at a local Indian mall were pretty, but they weren't exactly what I was looking for. I finally decided it would be easier to make my own.  What you need: Any kind of necklace chain (preferably lightweight) Nose ring (you can also make a lip chain if you have a lip ring.) Earring Hook Metal loops (You might be able to find a couple on your necklace) Jewelry pliers (I used regular pliers, but it's a lot more difficult.) How To Make It: Measure out the length you want your nose chain. Using the  pliers, separate the chain to your desired length. Take the piece you need, and attach both ends to  the bigger metal loops. I checked my email this afternoon, and I received a message from Hot Topic saying my order came in! As soon as I read it, I booked it up to the mall. Needless to say I was pretty excited with this purchase. I ended up getting $15 dollars off my purchase with a special coupon called, "Hot Cash" that I received after purchasing my nose jewelry. I finally got my Bela Lugosi Bowling Bag from Rock Rebel after it had spent much time on my wishlist. It's the perfect size, and it's even lined with stripes on the inside. I love it!

I first saw this tutorial at Gothic Charm School over a year ago. Since then, I've been dying to try it myself. If you want to look like you just dipped your finger tips on blood, then this look is for you. It's surprisingly simple too! First, I painted my nails white in order for the red to stand out more. This is not necessary. A clear or nude coat would word just as well.  After you let the base coat dry, brush the red polish just on the tips in a half crescent shape. This does not have to look perfect. Then, you will be needing a toothpick. Dip the toothpick in the red polish, and dab on the paint in your desired pattern.  Now, you're finished! There's really nothing else to it. 

Yesterday, I spent hours going through the Georgia Renaissance Festival. Although it was extremely hot (and I got a minor sunburn on my face), it was definitely worth it. If you are planning on going to one of these festivals, be prepared to spend money. The food and drinks are outrageously priced, and the vendors sell mostly handmade goods (which are also pricey understandably). I've never done a haul before, mostly because I'm too indecisive or cheap to buy too many things at once, so here's my first one from all that I got yesterday. This tea is from Earth Elements.      I find my self on the internet frequently...way too frequently. One site that I wanted to share is Cut Out + Keep. It's a website dedicated solely to DIY projects and tutorials. I love browsing it to see what people have done, so I can get inspiration for future DIY projects of my own. This site has clothing, purses, accessories, dolls, hats, make-up, food, and everything else you can imagine. These projects are fairly simple, and they are affordable alternatives to many items from online stores.      I've always loved the structured look of Victorian collars. I also had some excess fabric laying around that I cut off the bottom of a skirt, so I saw an idea waiting to be made. The fabric is a stretchy black jean material with lace running along the hem. Here's what it looked like before. In just a few simple steps, I had my very own Victorian-esque collar.  Step 1 & 2: I cut the fabric to fit the length around my neck, and I trimmed off some of the bottom. I then folded under and pinned down the bottom of the fabric in order to sew. Step 3: After I sewed the bottom, I sewed on hooks and eyes to the back for easy fastening. Step 4: I chose to sew silver buttons along the front, but a cameo pendant or anything else decorative would work. That's it! It's pretty simple, and it didn't take much time or money to make. Simple and cheap projects are my favorites. :)
