Bats in the Belfry, Cats in the Attic

I remember in 2011, I read on Gothic Charm School that My Summer as a Goth, a coming of age movie, had a kickstarter. I watched the videos and read the posts as a high schooler who had also gotten into Goth during the summer time about a year or so prior. After five years of waiting, the movie released another video on their Vimeo account: My Summer as a Goth - Kickstarter Video - Finishing Funds - July 2016 from My Summer As A Goth on Vimeo . The co-producers say that they will be shooting through August, which is approaching very soon! However, they still need more money to edit and produce as well as promote the movie. I'm not sure how the movie will turn out (though Jillian Venters says that they "get Goth right."). Regardless, I'm looking forward to watching the movie, indulging in nostalgia and seeing if any of the experiences of the young goths in the movie coincide with my own. I compiled a video of my pictures from 2008 to 2012 in order to show how my style has evolved. Somehow, I wasn't able to find any pictures from the year 2009. 2008- This was my 8th grade year. I was friends with a girl who called herself a Goth. I admired her make-up, clothing, and courage to wear what she wanted.        This was also the year that I started High School. This halloween, I went as Mrs. Lovett from Helena Bonham Carter. I loved my outfit and make-up there. I remember wanting to look like that everyday.      After that, I started to wear my make-up a little darker. I also started to wear fingerless gloves and darker clothing. This was the year that I got my Pair of Dr. Martens combat boots. 2010-This was the year when I officially considered myself to be a Goth.      My best friend, Justean, and I decided to go to Momocon yesterday. Originally free entry, this year they started charging thirty dollars to get in. I was really surprised and disappointed. When we made it inside, we saw so many awesome looking people. I'm not even a fan of anime, other than a few exceptions, but I still loved seeing everybody's cosplays. The lovely Justean (plague doctor) and I Jack, The Pumpkin King V, my inspiration. They were just so adorable, so I had to take their photo. A man in a gilly suit...haha This year, Momocon was held in a larger venue. Justean and I were a little let down, because last year was so much more enjoyable. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like there were a lot less dealers and artisans this year. All the same, the costumes were great, and the people were really friendly--even paying me compliments.
