Lamentation of Christ is a beautiful painting and a noteworthy example of foreshortening. One of the perks of living in a family that celebrates Easter is food. In fact, since no member of my household actually attends church, Easter really is mostly about the food traditions. It was a lonely holiday this year with just my mother and I at home (come to think of it, Christmas was terribly lonely too!), but that did not stop us from making ungodly amounts of food. I thought I'd share one of my favorite holiday dishes. It was passed down from my grandmother to my mother, and my mother to me. It's called "Heavenly Hash." No, not that kind of hash... Ingredients: 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple 29 oz. can of mandarin oranges 12 oz. jar of maraschino cherries 7 oz. bag of sweetened coconut 1 3/4 bags of 10 oz. My grandmother and I both went down to visit my aunt's. Before departure, I mentioned to my grandmother that maybe we'd see a ghost! I'm not so sure how my grandmother feels about the existence of ghosts, but she does not like to talk about them. That evening, I had a big slice of chocolate cake, and we all watched some Celebrity Ghost Stories and Dead Files by the fire. As it was time for bed, one of their cats followed me until I tucked myself in. What a lovely host, that cat was! The rain outside beat down on the roof with thunder in the distance. I was sleeping in the "haunted room" yet again, but I slept like the dead this time. It was cold, so I slept with socks on. When I woke up, a sock was missing! I looked under the covers, but I was unable to locate it. My cousin finally found it all the way under the bed. My uncle half-joked that it was "the girls" that took my sock. The girls to whom he was referring are the ghosts who are said to haunt...

Hello, readers! It's been nearly a month since I've posted anything. I simply wanted to say that I am not dead. I haven't been feeling  inspired, which is the main reason why there haven't been any posts as of late. I'll try to do better, but I can't promise anything substantial. In other news, I'll be visiting one of my aunts this weekend. She's the one with the haunted Victorian house I posted about. Here's the link if you haven't read . I'm hoping to at least do a small post about my weekend. My spring break is over after that, so that means back to work.

"Ghost Hunting" is not only an activity, but it is also a subculture. A Subculture is defined as:      "a group having social, economic, ethnic, or other traits distinctive          enough to distinguish it from others within the same culture or              society." -Dictonary.com By definition, Ghost Hunting is classified as a subculture. It has it's own basic beliefs, celebrities, shows and movies, books and magazines, and conventions. It even has it's own set of demographics, which is mainly adult white males. This subculture is also part of a larger paranormal community. Not all people into the Paranormal are ghost hunters, but every investigator I know of is into the Paranormal. Investigators and paranormal enthusiasts have a wide range of beliefs, but with the uniting belief that there is something else out there. Before Christmas, we did a little photo shoot and sent in bios for the website. (before I got my hair cut.) I really enjoy my job, because The Paranormal (of course), History, and Storytelling are all passions of mine. I also have the opportunity dress up and meet all sorts of people while on tour. source I've read Dracula multiple times, and it just gets better every time I read it. It's he same with the movies; they never get old. When I heard that The Atlanta Ballet was putting on Michael Pink's Dracula, I was thrilled. The Count was my fictional husband some years ago, and I recently found out that it was the same way with my mom. We both decided to get all dolled up for this event. my mother and I source The show was absolutely mesmerizing. A ghostly blue light was cast upon the set, occasionally interrupted by flashes of lightning. The light effects even produced video the of train to Transylvania and  the oceanic scene of Whitby. The music composition for this show very accurately captured the mood. At many parts, there was an eerie sound of a heartbeat in the background while violins trilled.
